Do kids wear costumes to Zoo Boo?
Adults and children are welcome to dress in Halloween costumes for their visit to the Zoo during our Boo at the Zoo trick-or-treating days. To allow for an enjoyable experience for everyone, we do not allow full face masks, weapons, obscenity, or anything that could cause disturbance to either patrons or animals.
What is a zoo boo?
Zoo Boo, our annual “merry-not-scary” event, returns to the Detroit Zoo for guests of all ages! Families will love the festive decorations, strolling entertainment, photo opportunities, educational activities and more. Speaking of pumpkins, Smashing Pumpkins will take place as part of the Zoo Boo festivities.
Is Zoo Boo free?
Zoo Boo is free for members and it’s included in admission for non-members.
Can you leave the San Antonio Zoo and come back?
Yes, once you leave you will need to depart at the Exit Gate. Tell the attendant that you want to return back, they will stamp you. Then you may re-enter the same day without paying again.
Is the SA Zoo open?

Is Boo at the Zoo Rain or shine?
Regardless of which day you come, arrive early! Gates will open at 9 a.m. Boo at the Zoo is rain-or-shine.
Can you conceal carry at the San Antonio Zoo?
The San Antonio Zoo will still allow licensed carriers to bring concealed weapons into the zoo. “Given the mission of the zoo and the presence of hundreds of thousands of children on its campus, it is clear that guns and zoos simply do not mix,” said the spokeswoman for the Houston Zoo, Jackie Wallace, in a statement.
