As a general rule of thumb, for most Duramax, Cummins and ’08-current Power Strokes, a 95 or 100-gph kit will support 500-to-600 hp, a 150 to 165-gph system will handle up to 800-to-900 hp and a 200-gph or more pump can support north of 1,000 hp.

What does a lift pump do for a Duramax?
It installs just outside the tank, bolts to the frame rail, intercepts the stock suction line, and pushes the fuel on its way to the engine. Your stock filter head is retained, and no other modifications to the tank or rest of the fuel system are required.
Are Fass fuel pumps loud?
Clogged filters will cause the pump to cavitate and become loud. Majority of the time a restriction on the suction side of the pump will be a clogged screen on the bottom of the fuel module inside the fuel tank. Excessive pressure could also cause the unit to over amp and become loud.
