Can I return books to any Brooklyn Public Library?
Returning Materials Return material to any open Brooklyn Public Library location. After-hours book drops are open at select locations. All material is due back by the date indicated at time of checkout or renewal. Items not returned more than 28 days after their due date are considered lost.
How do I renew my library card online?
You may do this by logging into your online library card account. If you have outstanding fines or fees, you can pay them online. Next, you can visit our online card renewal page. Library staff will review your request and renew your card, generally within 48 hours.
How many libraries are in Brooklyn?
The Brooklyn Public Library consists of a Central Library, a Business & Career Library, and 58 neighborhood branches in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. Eighteen libraries are historic Carnegie libraries. The Brooklyn Public Library also has five adult learning centers.

Can a non resident get a NYC library card?
Special Notes on Non-Resident (Visitor) Borrowers Non-residents may be issued a visitor’s library card on-site,with a three month expiration date. In order to qualify for a three month visitor account applicants must present photo id and proof of address (i.e. passport and utility bill) for their locality.
