Are transparent cables good?
Transparent Audio makes fantastic cables because they understand how to eliminate the noise problems and create a neutral cable. I’m amazed at how good these new cables sound. I thought my previous cables were great but these are over the top. Low level detail, dynamics, and effortless reproduction are just fabulous.
Are speaker cables snake oil?
For some people, expensive speaker cables and interconnects are snake oil. A few objectivists consider AC power treatments snake oil: most modern audio components, after all, can correct for AC line-voltage flaws and reject “ripple” in a power supply’s output.
Is high res audio snake oil?
While plenty of talk about high-res audio immediately dissolves into dismissing audiophiles who pay hundreds of dollars for cables, it’s not exactly snake oil. CD-quality audio is 16-bit / 44.1 kHz, while high-res doesn’t have a set bit rate or sample rate.
Are gold-plated RCA cables better?
When looking at RCA cables, you should go for a connector that is plated with highest quality gold. If it is made from silver or copper, its conductivity would be better. If it is entirely made of gold, its conductivity would be less as compared with the other two materials.
What does transparent sound mean?
Simply “transparent” means it does not change the sound audibly except for whatever parameter the device is intended to modify like an amplifier that only amplifies without adding distortion, phase shift, etc. Colored means the box adds some of it’s own “flavor” to the sound.
Do speaker jumpers make a difference?
Many speakers sound better bi-wired simply because the supplied links are sonically inadequate. The metal plates or wire jumpers might not seem like they have a big effect, but they do. Just because your speaker offers multiple input cabling doesn’t mean that bi- or tri-wiring will necessarily produce better results.
What was in snake oil?
It was found to contain: mineral oil, 1% fatty oil (assumed to be tallow), capsaicin from chili peppers, turpentine, and camphor.
Are speaker cables important?
Speaker cable is the wire used for the electrical connections between speakers and amplifier sources. It has three key electrical properties: resistance, capacitance and inductance. Low-resistance wire allows more of the source’s power through to the speaker coil, meaning more power and more sound. Simple enough.
Does high res audio sound better?
What’s so good about hi-res audio? The main claimed benefit of high-resolution audio files is superior sound quality over compressed audio formats such as MP3 and AAC.
