Australian Special Operations Course The 12 day course is open to all Australian Defence Force personnel and personnel from other Australian Government agencies to provide an insight into special operations with the first phase theory based and the second phase practical based.
How hard is Commando Training Australia?

Is it hard to become a commando?
Being a Commando is no ordinary career. It will challenge you to perform at a level past anything you will have encountered in your civilian life. You will be required to successfully pass a Special Forces Pre-Fitness Assessment (PFA) before enlistment.
How long does it take to train for special forces?
The process of completing these schools can take 14-18 months. You will receive MOS training for your Special Forces MOS, which includes SF critical tasks required for award of a career management field 18 military occupational specialty and interagency operations.
Can I become a commando?
The candidates who successfully attain 100% in the physical fitness test and at least 50% in the written test are eligible to be asked to join the Para Regiment. These candidates will be subjected to further tests for selection into the Regiment.
Can you go straight to Special Forces?
Recruits can enlist straight into Special Forces. These recruits go through basic training and then immediately enter the Special Forces training pipeline. If they fail or are simply aren’t selected during the Special Forces assessment, they are re-assigned to infantry.
