What is Cubase HALion?
HALion is a software instrument application, created by German music software company Steinberg for macOS and Windows. It can also use multiple forms of sound synthesis to produce other software synthesizer audio.
Does HALion 6 include HALion Sonic 3?
It is also available in a standalone version. Halion Sonic 3 is a very full-featured piece of software, and more than just a “lite” version of Steinberg’s flagship instrument, HALion 6.
What is Retrologue?
Retrologue provides you with a highly flexible virtual analog synthesizer. It features all essential classical synthesis features that you need to create your own synthesizer sounds. One oscillator can be a combination of up to eight detunable oscillator signals, which allows for very rich sounds.
Is HALion worth?
Most definitely worth it. Qualifies as a ‘no-brainer’. Agreed, If you like rompers and are a preset guy (like me) HS is well worth it. I considered upgrading to Halion, but while I can see it as so much more, it is not so much more that I would actually use.
What is the difference between HALion 6 and HALion Sonic 3?
HALion 6 is a fully fledged sampler covering the whole workflow – from recording and sample editing to programming advanced synthesis and modulation. HALion Sonic 3 is an all-in-one workstation partner to HALion 6, but in this review, we’ll be looking at HALion 6. HALion 6 is not just a sampler, either.
What is the difference between HALion and HALion Sonic?
Halion 5 has a lot more great presets than Sonic 2, even if they share the same samples. And of course the editing flexibility and additional sound slots. Sonic doesn’t show up in Halion 5; opening Halion 5 is the equivalent of opening Sonic, just with all the extra features and presets.
Is Retrologue 2 GOOD?
Verdict. If you invest some time and efforts, Retrologue 2 may become a very inspiring and flexible top quality synthesizer in your hands. It is already way beyond the standard 2-osc polysynth architecture, a foolproof workhorse not just for all kind of analog sound but covers a wider range of electronic soundscapes.
Is Retrologue a good synth?
Included with Cubase 6.5 and now available on its own, Retrologue is a virtual analogue synth that holds no major surprises but sounds superb. As we said, it sounds incredible – every bit as good as many synths costing three times as much. Basses bounce, leads scream and pads scintillate.
