Mercury recommends changing the impeller every 300 hours…its in the owners manual. It’s an easy enough job to do yourself if you have some mechanical skills.

How often should the impeller on a boat be replaced? It is recommended that a boat impeller be replaced every two to three years or 300 hours, whichever comes first. However, it is suggested to also visually inspect your impeller at the beginning of each season for any signs of wear or damage.
How often should outboard motor impeller be replaced?

How do you remove a water pump impeller on a boat?
Remove the four 10mm bolts securing the water pump housing, then remove the housing by sliding it up and off the driveshaft. Step 2. Remove the impeller and the woodruff key securing it against the driveshaft. NOTE: The impeller may come off with the water pump housing or may remain on the driveshaft.
When to replace water pump housing and impeller?
NOTE: The housing has a longer lifespan than the impeller, so it’s more likely that the impeller will need replacing but the housing won’t. However, any mechanical part will eventually become worn, so if you see any wear inside the housing, it’s time to replace it.
