Is Watco Satin Wax Food Safe?
Absolutely not. There should be no stain applied to any wood to be used for food. Watco makes a specific Butcher Block oil that is awesome. To be used on bare wood.
Can you apply wax over Danish Oil?
Wax over Danish Oil isn’t going to be an issue so long as the DO has had a few days to start curing and isn’t feeling tacky or even still pooling up out of the pores. Wax isn’t going to be such as “air-tight” film that the DO can’t continue to cure.

How long does Watco Danish Oil take to cure?
Wipe the surface completely dry. The surface is ready for use in 8-10 hours. If a topcoat such as a polyurethane is desired, allow Watco Danish Oil to dry 72 hours before application of the polyurethane. Apply fresh coats as needed to repair surface scratches and remove minor stains.
