Dust off or blow off as much powder as possible before washing. You may want to wash your color branded gear separately in cold water.

What do they throw at color runs?
The Color Run and other similar races say the powder they throw is simply cornstarch tinted with an FDA-approved dye. They also say you’re only supposed to throw it onto the lower half of your body. But many runners who completed the race can attest that the powder gets so thick it looks more like smoke.
Is cornstarch bad to breathe in?
Cornstarch, like talcum powder, can cause respiratory problems even in small amounts. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, if inhaled cornstarch powder can be dangerous. Inhaled cornstarch powder can damage a baby’s growing lungs.
Does color Run ruin shoes?
Will the color ruin my clothes or running shoes? The color mostly washes out after the event. As with anything dirty, the sooner you wash it the better. It’s best to wear items that you wouldn’t mind getting colorful.
