I would recommend favoring Maupiti over other islands, even at the cost of scratching some out. Five nights should be a solid amount of time and six/seven nights is a maximum. Maupiti was the highlight of my visit to French Polynesia (along with the Marquesas Islands), and I am very happy to have spent a week here.
