Does clearing fault codes reset ECU?
Turning back the screw and erasing the codes is the same resetting the ecu. I dont think it speeds it up, but I imagine the code wouldnt come back if the problem is actually solved. Disconnect the battery for 24 hours… imo… that truely clears the codes.
Can you read ABS codes without a scanner?
NO. Sorry…. but you will need a scanner capable of accessing the ABS module, which means HIGH PRICE* tool and therefor the need to charge for diagnostic codes. Sometimes shops will credit the code check price toward the repair.
