Can a 16 year old call Childline?
Childline works with children and young people until they turn 19 years of age. Some young people feel so safe talking to counsellors or using the site that the thought of leaving Childline can make them feel anxious. But it’s important to remember that there is still lots of great support out there.
Will Childline tell your parents?
Hi there, ChildLine is anonymous and confidential – this means you don’t need to tell anyone that you’re signing up for an account or that you’re talking to us. ChildLine is a private space where you can talk about things you don’t feel able to say to anyone else – and this can include your parents if you wish.

What happens when someone calls Childline?
All conversations with Childline are private, which means that you can talk to Childline about anything and we won’t tell anyone unless you tell us who you are or where you are. If you’re not safe, and you tell us where you are, we will pass your details on to someone who can help, like the Gardaí or a social worker.
Does Childline call the police?
Childline wants to make sure you’re safe and sometimes we work with the police to do that. But most of the time we don’t tell anyone what you say to us. We can keep it confidential even if you tell us you’re doing something illegal like stealing or taking drugs – we don’t work with the police in that way.
Can I kick my 15 year old out of the house UK?

There are a few things we can see when you contact us: When you call us, we can see your phone number. If you contact us online, we can see your IP address, a number used by your internet provider.
Is prank call illegal?
Prank calls may be illegal, especially if they are repetitive. Under NSW law, stalking and intimidation are offences if the person doing it knows that their conduct is likely to cause fear in the other person. This could include prank calls that involve scaring the victim.
Can Childline track your phone?
Sam 4 February 2020 Calling Childline is free and the number won’t show up on your bill. If you hide your number and we need to tell someone that you’re in danger, we can give the police details about what time you called and they can often find out the phone number and trace where you’re calling from.
Can you be kicked out at 14?
If your teen is a minor, according to the law you can’t toss him out. In many instances, kicking him out could be classified as abandonment. Unless your teen has been emancipated (the court severs the parent’s legal obligations) you are still legally accountable for his welfare.
Why do people want to make prank calls to Childline?
The counsellors are patient with every person that contacts and they want them to have a positive experience, because one day if they were in need we would want them to think of ChildLine. We would not want anyone to feel like they would get into trouble for contacting ChildLine.
Do you treat prank calls as a prank?
ChildLine doesnt treat any calls like they are pranks. We receive a lot of calls from young people who might be having some fun on their own or with their friends.They decide to call and tell us a story or a joke.
